The series ends on an emotional and suspenseful note, laying the groundwork for what could be a dramatic next chapter.
Panchayat Season 5: What Sanvikaa Revealed
In her chat with OTTplay, Sanvikaa confirmed that the writing process for Season 5 has already begun. She revealed that:
“The process for Panchayat Season 5 has begun, and hopefully, maybe by mid-next year or sometime in next year, it will be released. We are likely to begin shooting by the end of this year or early next year.”
This means fans can likely expect Season 5 to arrive on Prime Video by mid to late 2026.
Rinki’s Growth in Season 4
Sanvikaa also opened up about discovering a new side of Rinki in Season 4. She highlighted that Rinki’s fighting spirit for her family was explored more deeply this time. Her support for her mother, Manju Devi, during the elections showcased her growing confidence and emotional depth.
Sanvikaa shared:
“That spirit for the love of her family was shown beautifully… I feel I discovered that part of Rinki this season.”
The Love Story: Rinki and Abhishek
When asked about the much-anticipated romance between Rinki and Abhishek, Sanvikaa teased:
“People can get a light flavour of it in the new season. However, what will happen in the future, we don’t know, but yes, it is interesting.”
While their love story has finally blossomed, Abhishek’s success in CAT may soon separate them geographically, introducing fresh challenges to their budding relationship in Season 5.
What Panchayat Season 5 Might Explore
Based on Season 4’s ending, here are the most likely directions for Season 5:
-
New Leadership in Phulera: With Kranti Devi now the Pradhan, we’ll see how her leadership changes village politics. Will she keep her promise to recover the MP’s horse Sitara?
-
Manju Devi and Pradhan Ji’s Future: Having lost the election, how will the former Pradhan’s family cope and regain their footing?
-
Abhishek’s New Journey: If Abhishek joins a B-school, the show might explore long-distance struggles or a cross-location storyline.
-
Rinki’s Aspirations: As she steps out of her comfort zone, Rinki might focus more on building her identity beyond being a political daughter or someone’s love interest.
-
More from Supporting Characters: Season 4 gave characters like Binod and Madhav a chance to shine. Season 5 may expand their stories further.
Sanvikaa on Fan Reactions and On-Set Moments
Sanvikaa also reflected on the overwhelming fan love the cast receives. She shared how people from across India visit their sets on weekends, sometimes bringing gifts, handmade cards, and calling her "Rinki Didi." She cherished these memories and said they made her feel deeply connected to the show's impact.
With its mix of grounded storytelling, relatable characters, and rural charm, Panchayat has become one of India's most beloved web series. While Season 4 took a more politically driven route, Season 5 promises to bring new emotional depth, unexpected developments, and perhaps a return to the show’s heartwarming simplicity.
The journey from a reluctant village secretary to a man torn between ambition and belonging continues. And if Sanvikaa’s words are anything to go by, Panchayat Season 5 is already gearing up to be another eventful ride in the dusty lanes of Phulera.
