Guwahati’s Durga Puja celebrations reached a spirited high as the Excise Department has unveiled a new revelation – the city’s denizens indulged in alcoholic beverages worth a staggering Rs 22.05 crore in just three days of the festivities.
The remarkable statistics highlights the city’s exuberant celebration during the festival, as alcohol sales surge.
The figure has risen this year by a significant stretch. In 2022, alcohol worth Rs 16.80 crore was sold in Kamrup Metropolitan district.
