The incident happened after the victim, identified as one Safikur Haque, withdrew the amount from a bank and was walking towards his car.
Along with the cash, some documents were also snatched from him, sources said.
Reportedly, the victim's car was punctured by the miscreants prior to the robbery.
Haque is a contractor by profession and is a resident of Noonmati's Jayanta Nagar area.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in Noonmati police station.
