India records highest COVID-19 recoveries so far, 28,472 cured

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday informed the highest ever recoveries of 28,472 have been registered in a single day to date. This is also the highest number of COVID-19 patients cured/discharged in the last 24 hours.

The ministry data stated, this tally has taken the number of patients that have recovered to 7,53,049, strongly boosting the recovery rate among COVID-19 patients to 63.13%.

Meanwhile, 19 States and UTs are posting a recovery rate higher than the national average. Delhi has the highest recovery rate of 84.83% followed by the Union Territory of Ladakh 84.31% and 78.37% in Telangana. Assam is positioned at the ninth highest with 71.05%.
