With only few days left for people of Assam to go polling for the Lok Sabha elections, former AGP leader Jatin Mali has joined Congress.

APCC President Ripun Bora welcomed Mali, with a gamusa, to the party.

On the other hand, BJP-allied party AGP's sister organisation Axom Yuva Parishad's (AYP) Central Committee Secretary Pranab Chetia has quit the party after resigning from his post.

Chetia has submitted his letter of resignation to the organisation heads.

According to reports, the recently resigned AYP leader will join BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

It may be noted that Chetia was Sivasagar Zila Chatra Santha's former president.
