Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi has been taken into 10 days NIA custody.
The NIA seeks 20 days custody but the court has given 10 days custody to the peasant leader.
NIA filed three cases against Gogoi under Section 120(B)/124(A), 153(A)/153(B) and 18/39 of Unlawful Activities (Preventive) Act, (UAPA).
Gogoi was produced at NIA court in Guwahati on Tuesday. He has been brought to Guwahati by flight under tight security.
Speakingto reporters outside the court, Gogoi said, "I have been tortured a lot insidethe jail campus."
Itmay be mentioned that the NIA has filed a case against Gogoi in allegation thathe is interlinked with the Maoists.
The NIA alleged that Gogoi merged KMSS with RevolutionaryCommunist Centre (RCC) in 2009.
RCC later merged with CPI (Maoist), it alleges.
Akhil was arrested by Assam police on Thursday from upperAssam's Jorhat district as a preventive measure, amid violent protests againstthe CAA across the state.
Gogoi was on Saturday booked under the UAPA by the NIA and flown to Delhi by the central agency.
