On Tuesday, former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi arranged a press meet in Guwahati.

Addressing to, media, Gogoi told, whatever Union Home Minister Amit Shah told regarding National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on Monday, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma is completely responsible for it. Both of them are agreed with Amit Shah due to grabbing their chairs and the power of ministry.

Gogoi praised the Chief Ministers of Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland due to their initiative and honesty showing against CAB.

Moreover, regarding Asom Gana Parishad's (AGP) initiative on CAB, Gogoi mentioned Atul Borah is a back-boneless minister. Comparing Atul Borah with "Badan Barphukan", Gogoi told it's really unfortunate to not doing anything against CAB for AGP till now.

During the press meet, Tarun Gogoi requested all the Assamese people togive stand and come forward to protest against CAB.

On the other hand, after the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comment on CAB, Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) carried out a protest against Amit Shah and burnt his effigy in Lakhipur on Tuesday.

All Assam Students Union (AASU) General Secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi also had reacted against the controversial comment of Amit Shah regarding CAB on Tuesday.
