Crime against women has been drastically increasing under West Guwahati Police District and more specifically in Jalukbari area of Guwahati. The miscreants are now targeting the students of Gauhati University (GU). Several cases of sexual assault have come to light within a week, following which; a number of cases have also been registered in the Jalukbari Police Station.
After a student of the GU has filed an FIR with the Jalukbari Police alleging sexual assault by unidentified miscreants on Thursday, another girl of the varsity took to social media to share her traumatic experience on Saturday evening. In the Facebook post, that went viral, the girl wrote that her friend was touched on her private parts near the GU campus by a bike-borne miscreant.
"He slowed down his bike near us and touched my friend inappropriately. Before we could react to the incident, he quickly vanished. The last four digit registration number of the bike was 0773," the girl wrote on her Facebook timeline.
It may be mentioned here that the police have failed to identify the miscreants involved in these incidents.
