APYC Demands CBI Inquiry over Wood Syndicate

The Assam Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) demanded CBI inquiry into the wood syndicate running in the state. The youth congress claims that the wood syndicate is continued in Upper Assam with the support of the state government.

Addressing a press conference, APYC President Kamrul Islam Choudhury allegedthat the DFO of Digboi, Doomdooma and Dibrugarh and Forest Conservator of UpperAssam Ranjan Kumar Das are involved in the syndicate.

He also said that the woods are being smuggled through the gates of Bordumsa, Namsing, Dirak and Sonpur. He further claims that the woods are being carried to Arunachal from Assam to slit the woods. What is the mystery behind this?

Choudhury also stated that the BJP's funds for election comes from the syndicate and also named many wood mafia adding that the forest minister is aware of it but still no action has been taken against the syndicate that is being run in the state.

The APYC, therefore, demands a CBI inquiry into the matter.
