Ahead of the Independence Day, theGovernment Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday morning recovered a 0.22 pistolalong with 30 rounds live bullets from the Kamrup Express at the GuwahatiRailway Station.
According to Railway Authorities, the arms and ammunition were recovered from the ceiling inside a toilet of Coach No. S-11. "We recovered one .22 pistol along with 30 rounds of live ammunition from the down Kamrup Express train when it was standing at the platform No.1," said a top official of GRP in Guwahati.

After this recovery, the whole train was searched by the GRP but no more arms and ammunition were found.
However, no arrests were madein connection with the recovery.
