Artificially ripened mangoes seized, destroyed in Golaghat

Food SafetyDepartment and the district administration in a joint operation in variousfruit markets seized and destroyed carbide injected mangoes in Golaghat.

It maybe noted that the operation was launched after allegations of carbide stuffedmangoes being sold in the market.

Severalfruit shops have been stopped from carrying out further business.

Thedepartments have urged the people to be more cautious while buying andconsuming fruits.
