Arunachal Pradesh Gets New Council of Ministers

The Pema Khandu-led BJP government in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday got its new cabinet as the portfolios of the ministers were allocated.

As per the allocation of departments Pema Khandu, apart from being the Chief Minister of the state, will also look after all departments not assigned to the Deputy Chief Minister and any Cabinet Minister.

Chowna Mein will continue as the Deputy Chief Minister and will also look after the Finance & Investment and Power & Non-Conventional Energy Resources departments.

The Public Health Engineering & Water Supply, Department of Tirap, Changlang & Longding will be looked after by Wangki Lowang.

Honchun Ngandam has been allocated the Rural Works Department, while Kamlung Mosang has been allocated the Urban Development along with the Municipal Administration & Government Estates, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs.

Alo Libang will look after the Health & Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Social Justice and Empowerment & Tribal Affairs department.

Bamang Felix is the new Arunachal Pradesh Home and Inter-State Border Affairs minister. Additionally, he will also be in charge of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs department.

The Youth Affairs & Sports and the Water Resources departments will be looked after by Mama Natung.

Tage Taki has been appointed as the new Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Dairy Development, Fisheries departments.

Taba Tedir is Arunachal Pradesh's new Education and Cultural Affairs minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He will also look after the Department of Indigenous Affairs.

The Tourism, Transport and Civil Aviation department of the state will be looked after by Nakap Nalo.

The allocations were made by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra acting on the advice of Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, in pursuance of Rule 5 of the Arunachal Pradesh Rule of Executive Business, 1987.

It may be mentioned here that the BJP in the state had a thumping victory in the recent Assembly elections, thereby paving the way for Pema Khandu to don the CM's hat for the second consecutive term.
