Ten youths attempting to form a new extremist outfit under the banner of DHD(U) have surrendered before the Karbi Anglong Police. The operation, carried out as part of a series of intelligence-based initiatives, aligns with the Assam government’s broader vision for peace and development in the region.
According to official sources, the surrender took place following a sustained campaign by Karbi Anglong Police that combined strategic operations with community outreach efforts. The surrendered individuals handed over a cache of arms, including one AK rifle, three pistols, one single-barrel gun, one grenade, and assorted ammunition.
Taking to 'X', the Assam police said, "In consonance with Hon’ CM Dr. @himantabiswa Sir's vision for peace & progress, @karbianglongpol launched a series of intel based operations coupled with simultaneous outreach."
"Result: 10 misguided youth, attempting to form a new extremist group, styled as DHD(U) surrendered with arms - 1 AK, 3 Pistols, 1 SB Gun, 1 Grenade & Ammunition," the post added.
The Assam Police reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and development of all regions of the state, particularly those historically affected by insurgency.
