Assam CM holds all party meeting in Guwahati

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held an all party meeting in Guwahati, ahead of the publication of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft. The NRC draft will be published on Monday.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister has put forth the viewpoints of his government on NRC update process.

Sonowal has urged the people not to panic if any of their names are not included in the draft as they would be given ample opportunity to file claim and objection after the publication of the draft.

A citizen can find out his or her name in the NRC draft through toll free number, sms service, at NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs) and online.

The websites are www.nrcassam.nic.in, assam.mygov.in, assam.gov.in. One can dial toll free no 15107 (for those staying in Assam), 180034537622 (for those staying outside Assam) and 1077 (to Register Complaints).

Over 50 thousand employees are engaged in the NRC update process.
