A delegation of Assam government comprising ten MLAs, twelve government officials is all set to leave for Bangladesh and Myanmar on Wednesday.
As per official sources, the team will be led by Minister of Transport, Industry & Commerce Chandra Mohan Patowary. This journey will be a part of Samparka Yatra under the Act East Policy.
The team will visit the neighbouring countries for nine days starting June 26.
India's Act East policy is an effort to cultivate extensive economic and strategic relations with the nations of Southeast Asia in order to bolster its standing as a regional power and a counterweight to the strategic influence of the People's Republic of China.
