The Goods and Services Tax (GST) department, Assam, launched a major raid in Jogighopa on Monday, targeting individuals and business entities allegedly involved in tax evasion.
According to sources, the raid was carried out at the premises of Surgical Business, located in Jogighopa's Kabaitari. A team of around 15 SGST officials participated in the operation, which is part of a broader crackdown on suspected tax defaulters.
The business unit is under scrutiny for allegedly operating while evading state taxes, prompting the department to initiate action under relevant legal provisions. As of the latest update, the raid is still underway.
However, GST officials have not yet released any official statement or disclosed details to the media regarding the findings or outcomes of the ongoing operation.
