A police encounter took place in Nagaon's Nonoi area on Monday evening where a drug smuggler was reportedly injured.
The injured drug smuggler was identified as R K Hopkinson, hailing from Manipur.
The encounter took place during an operation led by Additional Superintendent of Police Dhruv Bora.
Heroin worth 2 crores was seized from an Alto vehicle they were traveling in.
Sources said the drugs were smuggled from Dimapur.
In another instance, a gun battle took place between security forces and drugs mafia in Lahorijan area in Assam's Karbi Anglong on Monday evening.
As per reports, one drug smuggler was injured in the firing when he was trying to flee. He has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
One pistol and ammunition was also recovered from the spot.
Also, around 600 grams of heroin worth Rs 2 crore was also recovered.
