Assam: Leopard Killed After Attack On Tea Workers

In what may be described as a ‘tit-for-tat’ action, a leopard was killed by locals of Assam’s Golaghat after it attacked and injured four tea workers.

The incident happened at Bijulee Tea Estate in Kunjapur area of the district.

The injured were identified as Dhaniram Suren, Dhaneswar Medhi, Deepak Lekra and Bishal Medhi.

Soon after the attack, locals gathered around and bludgeoned the leopard to death.

Meanwhile, forest officials have reached the scene and are taking stock of the situation.
