Assam Logs 3,706 New Covid Cases, Active Cases Touch 35,631

Assam on Friday reported 3,706 new coronavirus cases, taking the active cases to 35,631. The positivity rate is 2.16 per cent. The overall tally of the state is 4,77,159.

Further, 33 deaths have been reported today, while, 4,835 people have recuperated from the deadly contagion.

The new cases were detected out of 1,71,920 Covid tests, and the districts with the highest caseloads are: Sonitpur (262), Golaghat (240), Dibrugarh (234), Tinsukia (210).

The district wise deaths are: Kamrup Metro (7), Kamrup Rural (6), Chirang (2), Darrang (2), Golaghat (2), Jorhat (2), Sonitpur (2), Baksa (1), Cachar (1), Hailakandi (1), Karimganj (1), Kokrajhar (1), Lakhimpur (1), Morigaon (1), Nagaon (1), South Salmara (1), and Tinsukia (1).

The total recoveries have touched 4,36,043 with 91.38 per cent.

The Covid-related deaths have surged to 4,138 with 0.87 per cent.
