Assam lose Ranji clash against Rajasthan : Match Review

Not so surprisingly, batting brought in yet another downfall as Assam lost their away match against Rajasthan by an innings and 43 runs.

This has been the tale of the season so far with the Assam batsmen spoiling the good work done by the bowlers on most occasions. There has been no intent shown by the Assam batsmen this season. This was their 5th match of the season and barring a couple of batsmen, most have failed to leave any sort of impact whatsoever.

Assam scored 108 and 174 in their 1st and 2nd innings respectively in reply to Haryana's 325 scored in the 1st innings. Apart from Gokul Sharma and Kunal Saikia, none looked in any sort of touch. A lot depended on the openers as a good start was required, specially during this away encounter but they disappointed big time.

Pervez Aziz scored a duck in both the innings. For Rajasthan, Aniket Choudhary was the chief destructor as he picked up 5 wicket hauls in both the innings and was rightly adjudged the man of the match.

Assam will next play Services in New Delhi and Rajasthan will take on Odisha.
