Assam: Male Royal Bengal Tiger Found Dead In Orang National Park

A carcass of a male Royal Bengal tiger was recovered in the Ramkong forest camp area of Assam's Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve on Tuesday.

Following the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), the remains of the tiger was set to flames.

An investigation was carried out before conducting the post mortem to ascertain the reasons for the tiger's death.

According to forest officials, suspected 'territorial fighting' between two male tigers is the cause of death.

There are currently 32 Royal Bengal tigers in the national park that covers an area less than 80 square kilometers.
