Assam | Vehicle carrying EVMs overturns; Many injured

A vehicle carrying Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Unit (VVPAT) units turned turtle in Bokajan on Thursday night.

Polling officers along with security personnel in the vehicle were injured in the accident, police said. The EVMs and VVPATs were being transported from polling stations to a strong room located in Bokajan Higher secondary School. The injured were immediately sent to hospital for treatment.
