The issue came to light after a picture, in which formerATASU leader can be seen donning the Sangh outfit –white shirt tucked into abaggy khaki shorts with black cap and black shoes on– went viral on varioussocial media platforms.
It may be mentioned that few years back, Chetia along withhis mates "purified" Kareng Ghar with the help of priests after it wasallegedly defiled by volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The then-student leader urged the RSS to refrain from sowing seeds of hatred and dividing people in the name of religion.
Assam witnessed a totally different scenario during the Lok Sabha election. Especially, those who once stood for the interests of the society have now surrendered to the ones who have been marching for Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
