Bail extension plea of Pallavi Sharma rejected

The Gauhati High Court on Monday rejected arrested APS officer Pallavi Sharma request to extend her bail period.

Pallavi Sharma, daughter of BJP MP from Assam's Tezpur RP Sharma, has been out of jail since August 1 to attend her ailing father.

Seeking an extension of bail on the same matter of being with her ailing father as the first bail plea, the high Court decided against it and asked her to surrender at the Special Court in Guwahati on August 24.

Sharma, along with 65 other APS/ACS officers have been arrested in connection with the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam.
