Bajrang Dal activist detained

Three Bajrang Dal members were detained by the AbhayapuriPolice in connection with an attack on the Students of Abhayapuri College onSaturday. The detainees were identified as Subhankar Roy, Pranab Karmakar andDipak Hindu.

According to reports, the trio attacked a couple ofstudents of the college during the cultural programme of the Fresher's Socialevent on Saturday. Two students namely Ankurjyoti Ray and Pallab Ray sustainedserious injuries and have been shifted to Bongaigaon for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the police reached the college immediatelyafter the incident was reported and nabbed Pranab Karmakar from the college.Later, Subhankar and Pranab were detained.

The reason behind the incident was yet to be ascertained.
