Bandh effects Fancy Bazaar

The effects of the 12 hour Assam Bandh has been witnessed across Assam. With streets wearing an almost deserted look, Guwahati's one of the commercial hub, Fancy Bazaar has also been seen being effected by the Bandh.

Shutters of almost all the commercial establishments in the area are down. Perhaps, this is a gesture of conveying support towards the cause of the Bandh.

46 organisations under the leadership of KMSS and AJYCP had called for the alleged betrayal of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) as they had promised to return to Assam to hear on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, but nothing as such happened.

Opposing the Amendment Bill, BJP's ally AGP had also launched a protest rally from Latashil field to Chandmari in Guwahati on Tuesday. Thousands from various parts of the state had come out in support of the Bandh and had joined the rally.
