Drugs worth Rs. 90 lakh seized

Basedon secret information, a team of CID and Vigilance cell of Assam police onMonday launched an operation and arrested a person from Doboka in Hojaidistrict.

Duringthe operation, the team recovered cache Phensedyl and other contraband items.Reportedly, the drugs were kept hidden in the godown of one identified asTahiruddin Mazumdar. Meanwhile, Tahiruddin was arrested immediately after therecovery.

"Follow up action is being initiated in this regard," informed a top police official. "Value of the contraband item seized will be more than ninety lakhs in black markets," added the official.
