"Floods in Assam is a cause of worry for all of us. I express my sympathy with the affected families. Our party stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Assam. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families," tweeted BJP national working president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Tuesday.

He further added that the party is providing full support to those affected by floods in Assam.

The BJP national working president also urged the BJP karyakartas to help the people affected by floods.

"I appreciate the efforts of state govt for all possible relief and rescue operations on a war footing. The Central government is also providing full support to the state. I urge BJP Karykartas to help the affected in all possible ways," Nanda further tweeted.

It may be mentioned here that the central government on Tuesday provided Rs 251.55 crore for flood relief.

In one of the worst deluge in Assam's history, total 1,63,969.02 hectares of crops have also been destroyed.

Over 300 relief camps have been set up in the 34 flood-hit districts.
