BJP worker shot dead in Cachar

Haticherra Gaon Panchayat president, BJP's Sukhendu Das was shot dead by unidentified gunman in Cachar's Lathigram area on Tuesday evening.

As per reports, the GP president was riding back after attending an event when unidentified gunman shot at him and his nephew from behind. Das was admitted in the ICU in critical condition where he breathed his last.

Meanwhile, Sukhendu Das' nephew, Rinku Senapati is also in critical condition and is being treated in the SMCH. He was travelling with Das on the same motorcycle when the unidentified gunman fired at them.

Police yet to establish the motive behind the murder.
