Boat Capsizes In Hailakandi, 3 Missing

Three people are reported missing after a boat had capsized in Katakhal river of Hailakandi district.

The three missing persons are Ajay Parsi, Sumit Parsi and Ramesh Parsi. The incident occurred at Hailakandi's Lalamukh Ferry Ghat .

The lessee of the Lalaghat Ferry Ghat, Naimuddin has been taken into custody by the police.

The SDRF have been carrying out a search operation in search of the missing trio.

Earlier in Sept 5, a country boat carrying about 40 passengers and eight two-wheelers sank at North Guwahati. Nearly 12 passengers swam out to safety on their own. However the SDRF recovered the bodies of two missing persons after a few hours.
