Sensation prevailed in Chabua in Dibrugarh district after a body of a newborn baby (boy) was recovered by locals on Sunday floating in a water-body.
Police later retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem at Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH).
Till the filing of this report, the identity of the parents of the child was not yet ascertained.
Locals have expressed their deep anguish and have demanded the immediate arrest of those involved with the heinous act.
