BSNL market share in Assam’s telecom sector increases to 20 percent  

Public sector telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)'s market share in the respective field has been increased 12 percent in Assam in the current year. With this increase, BSNL's total consumer increased to 20 lakh in Assam .Last year it was 7.8 lakh consumers.

Disclosing the achievement, BSNL's Chief General Manager for Assam division Sandip Govind said that in last few months the public telecom service provider was able to increase its market share from 7.8 percent to 20 percent. "Every month we have one lakh new consumers. Now we have about 20 lakh consumer in Assam, which is a record", said BSNL's Assam division CGM.

He said that BSNL has introduced new services to attract new consumer. The public sector telecom major would set up 500 new towers for better service to its consumers. At present BSNL has 3000 telecom towers.

BSNL has introduced a new Internet Telephonic service named 'wings'. Through use of ' Wings' app , a consumer can make phone call to abroad.
