Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a meeting with the leaders of socio-cultural bodies, students' union and political parties of northeastern states for discussion over the plans to amend the citizenship act.
The meeting will be held from today in New Delhi at 9 pm on Friday and on November 30. The home minister will have a discussion with AASU, AAMSU, Assam Sahitya Sabha and other political and non-political organizations of the North East on Friday and on November 30, Shah will sit in a discussion with the Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states.
The discussion will be held before the passing of the bill in thecabinet. The cabinet meeting will be held on December 4. According to sources,the MPs of Northeast have been involved in preparing the bill.
