Cattle-laden trucks seized in Jalukbari

Acting on a tip-off the Jalukbari Police on Saturdayseized a cattle laden truck on National Highway 54 in Jalukbari area in theGuwahati. The truck contained around 11 cows.

According to reports, the truck bearing registrationAS-01-DD-6271 was en route to Meghalaya from Udalguri. Police after taking custodyof the truck took it to Jalukbari Police Station.

Meanwhile, one identified as Anowar Hussain has beendetained in connection with the seizure. He was allegedly taking the cattle toMeghalaya for illegally export it to Bangladesh. Police are investigating thecase.

It may be mentioned here that recently the GossaigaonPolice has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting 10 cattle smugglersincluding a veterinary doctor.
