The English maps were manufactured by a Chinese company named, Anhui and were destroyed by the authorities to protect China's "territorial integrity", Global Times reported.

"A total of 803 boxes of the 28,908 wrong maps were seized and destroyed, the largest amount to be disposed of in recent years," said Ma Wei, spokesperson of China's Ministry of Natural Resources.

It should be noted that China claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of China and depicted on its official maps as a part of south Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
