CM Sonowal attends seventh edition of Mahila Samaroh in Sorbhog

Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, ceremonially distributed funds to 7,429 Self-help groups under Kanaklata Mahila Sabalikaran Achoni on occasion of the 7th edition of Mahila Samaroh organised today in Sorbhog, Barpeta.

The ceremony was also attended by Assam BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Das and Cultural Affairs & Panchayat Minister Naba Kumar Doley.

Thousands of women from the area and nearby constituencies attended this leg of the Mahila Samaroh. According to the BJP leaders, this highlights the grand success of Kanaklata Mahila Sabalikaran Achoni and reflects aspirations of the women to strive for self-reliance and development.

"Mahila Sabalikaran Achoni's impact has percolated to every section of the society. Witnessing our mothers and sisters becoming self-reliant by taking benefit of a government scheme gives me great pride. Now, it is time for Assam's women to take greater control of the economy", CM Sonowal said while addressing the people present.
