CM Sonowal chairs meeting with intellectuals

Amid the protests and controversy over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday evening chaired a secret meeting with Assam intellectuals held at Jyoti Chitraban with a number of noted persons of the state.

A list of 41 persons including intellectuals, litterateur-writers, educationists, journalists, principals, teachers of many colleges, RSS leaders took part in the meeting.

As per reports, veteran journalist Kanak Sen Deka, litterateur-educationist Dr. Gobindra Prasad Sarma, Ajay Dutta, former governor Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary, journalist Naba Thakuria and many others were present there.

Under the aegis of 'Sampriti Manch' – an organization, the Govt-intellectuals meet had been organized at Jyoti Chitraban in the city – reports added.
