ChiefMinister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday inspected the progress of construction worksof the new bridge over the river Brahmaputra near the existing Kaliabhumurabridge connecting Nagaon and Sonitpur District.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the work, the CM said that the construction of the new bridge will be completed within 2020. An amount of Rs. 588.95 crore has been earmarked for construction of the two lane bridge.

The bridge is likely to improve traffic movement between the North and South bank of the river Brahmaputra. As per reports, 21 pillars, out of 25 pillars of this bridge have been completed.
