CM Sonowal Pays Tribute to Lachit Barphukan on Birth Anniversary

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid floral tribute to the legendary Ahom General Bir Lachit Barphukan on his birth anniversary on Tuesday.

Paying tribute to the Ahom General, Sonowal in a tweet wrote, "Bir Lachit Barphukan's name is wrought bright in the annals of history as the epitome of valour and patriotism. His chronicles of heroism have inspired generations. My reverence to the great Ahom General on his birth anniversary. #LachitDiwas."

"Paid my humble tributes to legendary Ahom General, Bir Lachit Barphukan on his jayanti. He made history by displaying exemplary patriotism, courage & bravery during the Battle of Saraighat, which will remain inscribed in golden letters," Sonowal wrote in another tweet.

Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid his tribute to Lachit Barphukan on his birth anniversary.
