AssamChief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday visited the residences of martyrCRPF jawans from Assam- ASI Nirod Sharma at Dahkaunia in Nalbari district and SunilKalita at Dimu in Kamrup district.
The CM handed over cheque worth Rs. 20 lakh each as financial assistance to the families of the martyrs. He also handed over condolence messages of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the families of bereaved.

It may be mentioned here that Nirod Sharma was martyred in an encounter with militants at Anantnag district in Jammu & Kashmir and Sunil Kalita was martyred in an encounter with maoists in Jharkhand.
