Congress president Rahul Gandhi, kick starting his campaign in Assam addressed an election rally in Guwahati on Tuesday. During his speech Gandhi slammed Narendra Modi and his government's push for the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
"Congress stopped passage of the Bill (CAB) at the Rajya Sabha. The people of the Northeast must remember that Congress stood with the people of the Northeast in their times of need," said Gandhi.
He also said that his party Congress is committed to protect the language, customs, traditions of the people of the Northeast. He was addressing a public rally at the Khanapara Veterinary College Playground in Guwahati.
