Amidst the spurt in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state, 735 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Assam on Sunday. Out of them, 552 are from Guwahati city alone.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this on his twitter handle. He also asked the people to "maintain vigilance and take strict precautions. "

Earlier in the day, the Minister hinted at the likelihood of another lockdown in the city if the situation didn't improve. Around 800 positive cases were detected in Guwahati on Saturday, the highest single-day count so far.
