Assam on Tuesday recorded 3,415 new cases of coronavirus, taking the active caseload to 39,837. The positivity rate today is 2.57 per cent.
Moreover, 34 deaths have been reported, while, 2,906 persons have been discharged.
The overall tally of the state is 4,66,590.
The new cases have been detected from 1,32,929 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The highest cases have been reported from the following districts: Jorhat (277), Golaghat (231), Cachar (230), and Tinsukia (228).
The recoveries of the state has touched 4,21,378 with a recovery rate of 90.31 per cent.
The district wise deaths: Tinsukia (5), Lakhimpur (4), Jorhat (3), Nagaon (3), Dibrugarh (2), Golaghat (2), Hailakandi (2), Kamrup Metro (2), Karbi Anglong (2), Sivasagar (2), Baksa (1), Cachar (1), Hojai (1), Kamrup Rural (1), Karimganj (1), Sonitpur (1), and Udalguri (1).
The death count of the state has surged to 4,028. The death rate is 0.86 per cent.
