Dibrugarh Police seize demonetised 1000 and 500 rupee notes

Acting on inputs, Dibrugarh Police successfully seized demonetised 1000 and 500 rupee notes worth Rs 42,32,000 on May 20.

The joint operation was carried out by Dibrugarh Police and 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles.

Two individuals, identified as Vinod Sahani and Shristi Hazarika, have been apprehended while they were carrying the consignment from Tinsukia to Dibrugarh on a motorcycle.

Interrogation is presently being conducted by the police.
