Fire in Barpathar, Property Worth Lakhs Gutted

A major broke out today morning at Barpathar in Golaghat district.

The inferno which broke out in the middle of the town completely gutted a book shop, a tent house and an internet café within minutes. However, it was fortunately doused by the Firefighters before taking an uglier turn.   

The fire is estimated to have caused a monetary damage of around Rupees 50 lakhs.

Although the Police have started investigating the matter, the cause of the fire is unknown so far.
