Enraged by the brutal lynching incident of two Guwahati-based youths in Dokmoka, Karbi Anglong on Friday night, four different regional organizations staged a massive protest outside the Dokmoka Police outpost on Sunday.
The outraged protesters condemned the incident and blamed the police personnel from the outpost for their inability to save Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das from getting brutally thrashed and losing their lives.
The protesters questioned the police on why did not they intervene during the incident and let the crowd keep on beating up the youths even when police were present on spot and were busy filming the incident rather than saving them.
They also forwarded a memorandum to Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal seeking justice and strictest of punishments for the culprits.
