Fuel Prices Hiked for 13 Consecutive Day

State-runoil marketing companies (OMCs) on Friday hiked the price of petrol and dieselfor the 13th consecutive day as they continued to adjust retail rates in linewith costs after an 82-day break from rate revision amidst the coronaviruspandemic. 

Petrol and diesel will now cost Rs 78.37/litre afteran increase by 55 paise and Rs 77.06/litre respectively after an increase by 63paise in Delhi, according to notifications from state-run Indian OilCorporation, the country's largest fuel retailer. 

In Bengaluru, petrol will now cost 58 paise more per litre,while diesel will be costlier by 60 paise more per litre.  In the last 13days, petrol price hiked by Rs 7.11/L & diesel by Rs 7.67/L.

In Guwahati, the petrol price is hiked by 56 paise/litre and diesel by 63 paise/litre. The rates go up cumulative by Rs. 7.11 and Rs. 7.67 for petrol and diesel respectively for the 13th consecutive day.

Oil companies on June 7 restarted revising prices in line withcosts.

Rates have been increased across the country and vary from stateto state depending on the incidence of local sales tax or VAT.
