Government To Bring Anti-COVID Medicines: HBS

Three medicines to treat COVID-19 are available in India at present. But they are very expensive, and their black marketing has started.

However, the State government is trying to figure out a way to bring them at its disposal and put it to public use.

This was informed today by Assam Health Mininster Himanta Biswa Sarma in a meeting held with Principal, Superintendent and doctors of GMCH. The meeting was held to discuss measures being taken for treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Sarma informed that the meeting also discussed ways to treat the COVID patients who are not keeping well. 40 of them are in ICU, whereas 30 are not.

He further added that henceforth a meeting will be held daily with the senior doctors from 5 pm to 6:30 pm to discuss ways of treatment for each and every COVID-affected person.

Shedding light on the Plasma treatment, the Minister said that so far, the treatment has been given to two patients, and the oxygen level of both the patients has improved to 96 from 87.

A large camp will have to be conducted with regard to plasma treatment, he added.
