The COVID-19 situation in Guwahati has worsened day by day as the number of positive cases is increasing day by day. The city reported 378 new cases in the last 24 hours among the 408 cases detected in the state on Wednesday.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma requested the citizens to strictly follow the lockdown guidelines in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The minister in a tweet said, "Alert ~ 408 new #COVID19+ cases detected today. In last 24 hours 378 cases reported from Guwahati City. We request all to follow lockdown rules sincerely."

However, the COVID-19 tally in the state rose to 8955 with 3109 active cases.
Meanwhile, the state government has also introduced more numbers of COVID-19 hospitals and quarantine centers in order to accommodate more patients.
The health minister also informed that the people will now get their results through a website launched yesterday. In a tweet he said, "From Now onwards, results of all #COVID tests will be available on a dedicated website~ http://covidassam.in"
"People need to enter their Specimen Referral Form (SRF) ID to view results. So far we have uploaded 3.5 lacs results and more will be uploaded," the minister said in the tweet.
