Haj pilgrims Attack: Ajmal demands action

AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal on Friday asked Assam CMSarbananda Sonowal to take stringent action against culprits who attacked Haj pilgrimsin Silchar, which took place on Thursday.

As per reports, three Haj pilgrims namely Jamir UddinLaskar, Abdul Khaleque Choudhury and Nazir Ahmed Laskar were attacked by agroup of 10-12 miscreants.

The incident occurred at central road in Silchar town whenthe three victims were on their way to the District Administration's office tocollect their identity cards for the Haj pilgrimage. They were stopped on road,abused, their skull-caps thrown and attacked by miscreants.

 The miscreants alsothreatened them to cut into pieces and throw them into river. This is not thefirst incident as recently similar incident took place in Barpeta town in whichsome Muslim men in Barpeta town were stopped and beaten up.

The victims were forced to chant slogans like "Jai ShriRam", "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Pakistan Murdabad".

AIUDF also demanded to bring a tough law against mob lynchingwith provision of 10-year jail and fine of 10 lakh on people involved in it.
